On 9/4/17, Labor Day, I attended a barbecue in Willowbrook Park in Staten Island in the picnic section. It was very nice with about 100 politically progressive people, who were attending mostly from Staten Island.
One of the reasons I was invited was because I’m running for Borough President of Staten Island. I talked to many people explaining what we have to do to have a better society.I also gave out about 30 to 40 campaign fliers.
I explained to the people that because we have such a maldistribution of wealth in the United States it was causing a bad economy and horrible problems like crime, unemployment, drug addiction, pollution and the lack of adequate health care, to mention a few.
I explained that to take care of these problems we have to tax the wealthy 1% the way we did in the 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s . In that way we will have enough money to take care of problems and straighten out the economy. It’s as simple as that!
On Labor Day 9/5/16 I was invited to a barbecue held every year by politically progressive Staten Islanders. It was held in Willowbrook Park on Staten Island. There were about 75 people there. I spoke to many of them about my campaign and explained my positions. I also gave out literature and the Green Party Ten Key Values.
