hb_election_results

Hi Everybody,

Yesterday, on Election Day 11/8/16, I received 3,607 votes — 2,173 on Staten Island and 1,434 in the Brooklyn portion of the district (1.7%} — on my campaign for Congress in the NYS Eleventh Congressional District. I received more votes than I did in 2014 when I ran for Congress and got 2,687 votes.

Campaign Notes – Ft. Hamilton Candidates Forum

ft-hamilton-forumHi Everybody,

On 10/5/16 I went to the Fort Hamilton Senior Center and participated in a forum with my opponent, Democrat Richard Reichard, and gave our views on the economy, the environment, healthcare, US foreign policy, taxes and our infrastructure. Dan Donovan, Republican incumbent, did not show up. We sat at a table in front of the audience. We also answered many questions from the audience.

Campaign Notes – LWV Voters Guide

lwv-logo
Hi Everybody,
On Wednesday, September 28th, I submitted my responses to the League of Woman Voters New York State voter’s guide. Please take the time to read my responses to learn more about my campaign and what I will do in Congress, if elected, to improve the economy, the environment, our roads and highways and our mass transit system. We need to get serious about these things before it’s too late. Also check  out what my congressional opponents want to do and compare them.

Bardel 2016 Campaign Notes – PEF Questionnaire Submitted

PEFHi Everybody,
On 8/15/16, I e-mailed to the PEF Region 11 Office  in Brooklyn a questionnaire that they had sent to me which I had filled out. The PEF is the states largest white-collar union representing 53,000 professional, scientific and technical employees, and is the second-largest state-employee union in New York.

Hank is mentioned in SI Advance article

[NOTE: Printed below is an article that appears in today’s Staten Island Advance about the Congressional race in CD 11 which also includes Hank. While we’re pleased that Hank is mentioned, as is usual with the mainstream press, when mentioning the Green Party, it’s only as an “also running.” But a little bit more troubling is the way in which it’s mentioned that Hank’s campaign hasn’t submitted filings to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). It’s a factual statement  – we haven’t – but it may give the impression that the campaign is not being forthcoming about contributions. The fact is, until the campaign raises $5,000.00 in contributions, FEC filings are not required. In order to avoid any appearance of impropriety, and for the sake of transparency, we will be filing with the FEC shortly. We realize now that aside from transparency, by filing with the FEC, the campaign will be taken more seriously, and give debate and forum organizers one less reason to not extend an invitation to participate. Now, send us contributions so there will be something to report. ]    Continue reading

Green Party candidates for Congress Daniel Vila (l) and Hank Bardel (r) at the Stir Cafe next door to the NYC BOE waiting to file their designating petitions.

Hank Bardel filed his designating petition to run as the Green Party candidate for Congress in District 11 (Staten Island/Brooklyn) with the NYC Board of Elections on April 14th. We’re happy to report that no errors were found, and no objections to the petition were filed. Since the Green Party did not have a primary for that district, Hank will be on the November ballot. Daniel Vila, GP candidate for Congress in District 13 (Manhattan/Bronx) also filed and also cleared the hurdles. Candidates for State Assembly and State Senate will start their petitioning period on June 7th.
